Mrs. Wenell Chastain, age 88 of Jasper, Georgia passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 28, 1925 in Gordon County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Green Prather and Dora Long Prather. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bill Chastain and a son, Ronith Chastain. Mrs. Chastain was a homemaker and was a member of the Bethel Christian Church.
Survivors include, DAUGHTERS, Maggie Cain of Jasper, Ga.; and Edith Carbine of Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga.; 13 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Glenn Sims and Rev. Alan Caylor will officiate, with the interment to follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
