Mrs. Martha Priscilla Newman, age 75 of Ranger, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at her residence, following a period of declining health. Born June 8, 1938 in Ashburn, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late William Ishmael Walker and Monnie McMurrian Walker. Mrs. Newman had worked as a customer service representative with Regions Bank. She was a member of Goshen Baptist Church but was actively involved in Shiloh Baptist Church in Jasper.
Survivors include, HER HUSBAND of 29 years, Bill Newman of Ranger, Ga.; DAUGHTERS & SONS-IN-LAW, Sue and John Chappell of Newnan, Ga.; Lesa and Bruce Baldwin of Burlington, Indiana; Laurie and Buck Wardle of Martinsville, Va.; Carol and Randy Holt of Dublin, Ga.; Lori and Stan Williams of Macy, Indiana; 16 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren; SISTERS, Mary Marele Morrisey of Memphis, Tn.; Patricia Ann Briseno of Conroe, Texas; Jane Elizabeth Dewitt of Jacksonville, Fla.; Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
At her request, Mrs. Newman was cremated. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at the Roper Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Jimmy Hogan will officiate.
