“Paint Pickens Green”

Sharptop Arts Association and Animal Shelter of Pickens will “PAINT PICKENS GREEN” on March 15th.

The Sharptop Arts Association for over 20 years has celebrated young artists and the fine art teachers in Pickens County. This year, from February 27th to April 5th, they have dedicated the Center to a month of exhits featuring student art throughout the Gallery located on D.B. Carroll Street in Jasper.
This year they want to invite the entire community to this creative event by “Painting Pickens Green” on Saturday, March 15th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Gallery. There will be food, fun and opportunities for vendor tables for sales or information. The highlight is the 1st ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY COSTUME CELEBRATION PARADE. All participants are encourage to “Go Green” with their own Irish interpretation of St. Patty’s Day. This will be a fun project for schools, youth clubs and churches. A $10 booth charge will provide prizes for Leprechaun Award(elementary & younger); Patty O’Pickens Award(middle school); and Dragon Dynasty Award((best 3 or more participants)high school.

Also spotlighted by Sharptop Arts Association is more awareness of our Animal Shelter of Pickens County. There will be a special location set up by the shelter to offer information and provide a place to make donations to the shelter. There will be a donation to the shelter from the Arts Association.
