The Jasper Lions Club is sponsoring a community health fair with various screenings and health information on April 26 at Chattahoochee Technical College. There is no entrance fee although there are some discounted fees associated with some of the tests. With more than 40 exhibitors prepared to give out information and set up booths, anyone with health concerns is invited to attend to obtain material and/or be tested. Some of the free tests include hearing, vision, glucose (sugar levels), cholesterol, scoliosis, EKG (electrocardiogram), height/weight, pulse/oxygen levels and women’s wellness.
A couple of tests with associated fees are blood profiles for $25 and men’s PSA (prostrate-specific antigen) at $10. The lists are not all-inclusive so the public is encouraged to attend to attend to their health concerns even if not mentioned.
The event will be open from 7-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the college which is located at 100 Campus Drive, Jasper. The fair is being coordinated by the Jasper Lions Club, Piedmont Mountainside Hospital, Georgia Mountains Hospice, Inc., and Chattahoochee Technical College.
