Mr. Troy “General” Roper, Jr. age 67 of the Yellow Creek Community died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.General was born December 2, 1946 in Pickens County to the late Runt & Ruth Roper.
Survivors include his Wife; Jeanell Roper, Yellow Creek. Children; Melissa Johnson, Jasper, Curtis & Melissa Roper, Jasper, Casey Roper, Yellow Creek, & Elisha Roper, Eatonton. Brothers; Frank Roper, Yellow Creek, Floyd Roper, Stone Mountain, & Jerry Roper, Canton. Sisters: Wylene Holland , Dawsonville, Diane Jones, Jasper, Linda Wright, Jasper, Irene Dorsey, Jasper, & Darlene Dale, Tate. Grandchildren: Troy & Megan Johnson, Tyler & Syndel Johnson, Macey Johnson, Dustin & Julie Roper, Dawn & Cody Ray, Great-Grandchildren, MaKenzie Johnson, Madaleigh Johnson, Tanner Johnson, & Kayson Williams.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Runt & Ruth Roper, Brother, Gerald Roper, & Sister, Christine Roper.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Friday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Byess & Rev. Sylvester Ridings officiating. Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Thursday from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am until the funeral hour.
