Ethel H. Mock, 90, a native of Marshall, NC, but a long-time resident of Savannah, Georgia, passed into the arms of her Savior on May 31, 2014 from her son’s home in Jasper, Georgia. Ethel enjoyed fishing, roller skating, and was an accomplished golfer well into her senior years. She was married for nearly 55 years to B.A. Mock, Jr. She retired from the Chatham County Board of Education in Savannah. As long as her health allowed, she was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, Georgia.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Mike Aspinwall of Meldrim, Georgia, and Ben and Jane Mock of Jasper, Georgia; four grandchildren, Michelle Aspinwall, and Emily, Benjamin and Walleen Mock; and one great-grandson, Jaidan Aspinwall.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, from 5-9 PM at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper. Her home going service will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 3 at 11 AM at Bethel Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, Georgia. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be directed to the Missions Program of Bethel Baptist Church of Richmond Hill, Georgia or Omega Hospice of Cartersville, Georgia.
