During a Thursday (July 17) meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Financial Director, Faye Harvey, reviewed the county’s midyear budget. The total budgeted revenue for the 2014 fiscal year is $21,047,071. Revenue collections, as of June 30, 2014, total $5,569,296 which represents 26.46 percent of the budgeted amount.
Tax revenue for the years so far represents 18.87% of projection, but is normal for this point in the year. The largest portion of taxes budgeted are property taxes which are not billed and collected until the end of the fiscal year.
Most department expenditures were essentially on-target for the year.
