Proverbs 30:5-6 “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.”
Holy Spirit of God, the truths you have inspired in the scriptures are relevant for every century. They can only be understood and applied by your guidance and inspiration. You teach us not to go beyond what is written and supplement it with our own wisdom for, in the real world of life encounters, your word is true and trustworthy.
We pray today for the Bible teachers in our churches. We are thankful for these men and women who give freely of their time to study your word and teach it to others. Help them to realize that they cannot improve on the text by making more of a teaching than is actually there.
May this Lord’s Day find our classes filled with students eager to hear a word from the Lord which they will live out in the fullness of Christ.
