Operation Round-Up Celebrates 15 Years of Charitable Giving

The July meeting of Amicalola EMC’s Operation RoundUp® board of directors was more than the quarterly disbursement of funds. It was a celebration. There were lots to reasons to celebrate; in fact, 15 years worth of them. Since January 1999, member-owners of Amicalola EMC have been “rounding-up” their electric bills to the next whole dollar amount for charity. It may seem like only small change, but in the past 15 years it has added up to almost $1.8 million.

“It’s hard to measure the far-reaching positive impact the Operation RoundUp program has made in our service area”

says President/CEO Charles Gibson.

“This program has provided basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, health needs, education and specialty needs to thousands of individuals and charitable groups in our area. We believe it has made the difference between some residents having their basic needs met or not. We are extremely proud of the program and the nine member volunteer board of directors who donate their time and energy to such a worthy community charity”.

Amicalola EMC encourages all its member-owners to join the thousands who are rounding up their electric bills for charity. Cash donations are also accepted. Please call 706-253-5200 for more information.
