Pickens County resident Jennifer Lynn Corbin was captured and detained by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department yesterday (August 14) at approximately 12 noon.
Corbin and fugitive Timothy Eugene Smith of Waleska, Georgia had been evading arrest for more than a week. Law enforcement officials received ‘tips’ that a woman was accompanying Smith but she could not be identified.
Smith managed to escape from Pickens County deputies last week and nearly evaded capture by Cherokee County deputies yesterday when he managed to ‘slip’ his hand cuffs and break out of a patrol car. Smith then attempted to escape the scene in a patrol car. Deputies used pepper spray to restrain and re-cuff him.
