University of North Georgia Announces New Program in Fannin County

Speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives David Ralston, State Senator Steve Gooch, and members from The University of North Georgia gathered at Fannin County High School to present their plan for a new program in Blue Ridge.

“We are here today to announce an exciting new program. We have received some grant funding to be able to put in a device to our North Georgia network that will allow us to teach students in Blue Ridge…. The professor can be in Dahlonega teaching chemistry and the student can be here in Blue Ridge talking back and forth- in real time.”

Dr. Bonita Jacobs President of UNG

The University of North Georgia is one of six Senior Military Colleges in the United States. The college currently has campuses in Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee.
