Daily Prayer: February 4, 2015

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”O Mighty God, you who forgives all of our sin, we pray for personal cleansing, for every evil thought, or every evil deed, and every sin which separates us from you.

Would you forgive our sins of omission, lost opportunities to be kind and thoughtful to someone in need, for failing to speak when something should have been said, and for being so involved with our own concern that we do not have hearts tuned to the burdens of others.

Our sin is ever before us and it is bigger than we are.

We cannot cope with it. So we humbly ask for your grace and mercy in the applying of the great power to make us whole through cleansing from every sin.

If this person before you now desires forgiveness, would you hear their prayer made through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Amen.
