Mrs. Jerry Jenkins, age 70, of Jasper passed away February 1, 2015 at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, GA.
Mrs. Jenkins was born to the late Eugene and Marion Tallent on January 3, 1945. She grew up to become a dedicated teacher and taught many years in Cherokee County.
She is survived by her husband, John Thomas Jenkins of Jasper; daughter, Tyne Stephens Jenkins of Jasper; and brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Vickie Tallent of Pelham, AL.
The funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper with Reverend Ben Mock and Reverend Tony Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park in Jasper. Mrs. Jenkins will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Roper Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Samaritan’s Purse of North Carolina.
