Ashton Edwin “Tony” Garner, Jr., age 59, of Ball Ground passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home.
Tony was born to Ashton Edwin Garner, Sr. and Betty Jordan Garner on February 22, 1956 in Clearwater, Florida. He married Joyce Ellen Thrash. Tony proudly served his country as part of the Military Police in the United States Army. He currently worked for the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Garner of Ball Ground; sister, Susan Garner Reynolds; brothers, William Garner, John Garner; nephews, Franklin Garner, Andrew Garner, Eric Reynolds, Ashton Reynolds, and Tyler Garner. Several other family members also survive.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Roper Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pickens Animal Shelter.
