Dragonettes Scholarship Signing

The Pickens High School Dragonettes sports programs had three different young ladies sign college scholarships to extend their playing careers on the collegiate level. Paula Pickett signed a softball scholarship to play for Gordon College. Haley Kalson signed a basketball scholarship to play for Gadsden State College, and Makayla Payne signed a basketball scholarship to play for Maryville College. Pickett, Payne and Kalson, also spoke to FYN about leaving PHS and playing on the next level.

Dragonettes basketball head coach, Donna Ennis, coached all three girls as seniors on the basketball team, which made it to the “Sweet Sixteen” of the State Tournament, despite the three aforementioned seniors making up the entirety of her senior players. She spoke about their contributions to the Pickens program and the legacy they will leave behind.
