PSCO Scam Alert

From the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office: Our office has received several calls today informing us that someone is calling them claiming to be from the IRS and others claiming to be from the Pickens Sheriff’s Office. These individuals are then asking for personal information line social security numbers and dates of birth. THIS IS A SCAM!

Neither our staff, nor the IRS will ask for your personal information over the telephone. The victims of this scam appear to be mostly elderly, so please be sure to let your elderly friends and relatives know not to fall victim to this tactic.
