Daily Prayer: 04/13

Psalm 84:10 “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.”

Almighty God, Our Father, you are so awesome and yet so personal. You are so far above us but you come down to us. We pray in so many languages and yet you understand them all. We are so human and you are so divine and still you are moved by our needs. This is why we are more ourselves when we worship you than at any other time.

We enjoy being in your house on the Lord’s Day. It is such a blessing to see the crowd that gathers to place their lives before you. We all wait to hear you speak to us and to go home with a “thus says the Lord” ringing in our hearts.

Our world needs to hear from you but they will not come to you. They do not know how to listen to you or how to worship. They see the church and not you.

If this one who now prays needs a word from you today, direct this one to a scripture that speaks of your power. Our prayer is made through our advocate – Jesus our Savior.
