TEA PARTY TALK

November 2016 seems so far away; but not for the candidates seeking office. They have been busy getting their campaigns off and running; and four newcomers to Georgia politics have thrown their hats into the ring.Mickey Tuck, an electrician from Floyd County, has announced his intention to challenge Congressman Tom Graves, R-Ranger, for the Republican nomination to represent the 14th District. The district covers the 12 counties of Northwest Georgia.

“Limited government, low taxation, reduced spending, a balanced budget, and adhering to the U.S. Constitution is the platform I will be standing on,” Mickey Tuck said in a recent interview.

Lee Benedict, an educator from Columbia County, will be running against Senator Johnny Isakson for a seat in the U. S. Senate. After eight years of military service, Lee Benedict is now a teacher in special education.

He has worked on numerous political campaigns, the most recent being the presidential campaign of Rick Santorum.

Al Gainey, a Gainesville business owner and former Hall County Commission Chair, has indicated he will challenge Congressman Doug Collins for the Republican nomination to represent the 9th District. Al Gainey hosted “The Al Gainey Show” on WDUN for 2 years and is a frequent guest speaker on WDUN in Gainesville.

Mr. Grayson has said, “What we need now are strong and principled voices that will stand and represent the will of ‘We the People’ and who will honor the oath to support and defend the Constitution.”
