Daily Prayer: 06/18

Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”Dear Lord of Grace and Giving, all that we are and have has come from your bountiful storehouse. We love our treasures but we know that everything material that we have will soon wear out or will become unnecessary. Even our pleasures will lose their attraction and our hearts will hunger for something deeper of spirit. That big hole that is in our hearts cannot be filled with material things.

As we place our treasures of money in a bank, we desire to lay up treasures in heaven made up of those spiritual graces that cannot be destroyed and can never be stolen from us.

Help all who commit their day to you to be about the kingdom’s business as they become instruments of mercy in your hands. Our prayer is in Jesus name.

Amen
