Update to Fatal Crash

Chief Lovell of the Jasper Police Department sat down with our reporters today to speak about the fatal accident earlier today.The Police Chief was unable to disclose specifics of the accident due to an ongoing investigation by the Georgia State Patrol SCRT (Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team).

City Police were among the first responders to the site and aided in controlling and redirecting traffic as the investigation proceeded. Traffic was redirected down Appalachian Ct to rejoin with 515 past the accident.

Chief Lovell has confirmed one fatality with the driver of a Chevy Impala which collided with a Cement Pumper. Highway 515 was shut down by the police from 5:30 to 10:30 this morning, June 22. Though the debris has been cleared, they are still continuing the investigation.
