Daily Prayer: 06/24

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

O Divine Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, you have given us the privilege of choice in our lives. We can choose which way we will go. You will let those who choose the wide gate that is easy and leads to destruction walk that road. You will also let those who choose the narrow gate that leads to life walk that hard road. The few are always concerned about the many, but they have made their choice.

Some think that it is easy to be a Christian and that only weaklings choose this road. But Jesus taught us that it is so hard, and that is one reason why so many do not want to walk through that entrance.

We who are on the narrow road know someone who is on the wide road and we pray that they will change the road they walk while they still have time. If this person who now prays has a family member who is not a Christian we pray that this one will approach and enter the narrow gate that leads to life eternal and abundant.
