Attempted Robbery at Jasper Save-A-Lot

After an attempted robbery last night, July 30, at the Save-A-Lot, suspects fled through the woods behind Garner Ace Hardware according to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies immediately began assisting the Jasper City Police Department and GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigation) as they searched for the suspects along East Church Street. The descriptions were released as two white males in dark clothing with ball caps and hoodies and possibly still carrying the handgun they used to threaten the store clerk with.

Earlier today the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office had this to say, “During the night search, two individuals were located in the wooded area, along with weapons that were located as well. One individual was questioned and later released. The other individual was arrested, but on a separate crime that happened to have occurred during the same time.”

The authorities are continuing their search at this time, following all possible leads available. FYN will continue to follow this story as updated information becomes available.
