Yesterday, President of Basketball Operations/Head Coach Mike Budenholzer and the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club announced the signing of veteran guard/forward Jason Richardson. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed as is per team policy.
Richardson is a 13-year vet of the NBA playing in 857 regular season games while making 842 starts with teams such as Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, Charlotte Hornets, and most recently, the Philadelphia 76ers averaging 17 points per game, 5 rebounds per game, 2.7 assists per game, and 1.2 steals in 34 minutes per game. In 37 career postseason games, Richardson has put up 17 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, 1.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Appearing in 19 games last season for the 76ers, Richardson averaged 9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2 assists in almost 22 minutes of game time.
During the early days of his career, Richardson was none for his high flying ability and his jaw dropping dunks winning the slam dunk contest during all-star weekend. The Hawks believe that Richardson can and a veteran presence to the club and contribute off the bench for the upcoming season
