Mrs. Clara Dell Key Jones: Obituary

Mrs. Clara Dell Key Jones, age 93, of Jasper passed away early Monday, September 28, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Rome. She was born August 24, 1922 to Robert and Alma Key in Pickens County. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper and was the founder of the hospital auxiliary in Pickens County.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diane Jones of Jasper; daughter, Judith Jones Schwarz of Debary, Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Fred Nicholas and Heather Schwarz, Sonia and John Gossett, Edward Sterling Schwarz, Chad and Lacey Jones; great-grandchildren, Joseph Gossett, Carson Jones, Nina Jones, David Gossett, Camden Jones, Haydn Schwarz, and Anniston Jones. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Jones, Sr. and son, Edward Jones, Jr.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 1 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Cantrell, Reverend Jeremy Mullinax, and Reverend Thomas Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30 and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday, October 1 at Roper Funeral Home.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to the Georgia Sheriff’s Youth Home in honor of Mrs. Jones.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
