Mr. Gilbert A. Olsen, Jr. : Obituary

Gilbert A. Olsen, Jr., age 65, of Jasper passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at his home.
Gilbert was born June 28, 1950 to Gilbert and Elaine Olsen in Norfolk, Virginia. He married Frances Carver and was blessed with three children and then nine grandchildren.

He is survived by his true love of 57 years and wife of 47 years, Frances Olsen; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Ashleigh Olsen; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Kenny Holloway; son, Mike Olsen; grandchildren, Andrew Olsen, Wyatt Olsen, Olivia Olsen, Lilly Holloway, Caroline Holloway, Zoe Olsen, Charis Olsen, Rayna Olsen, Tait Olsen; sisters, Elaine Forrester, Mary Parker, Jane Willis, CC & Marty Messmer; brother-in-law, James Prather; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Jack Davis; sister-in-law, Glenda Hammontree. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Carter Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home & Crematory in Jasper, Georgia.
