Mr. Lewis E. May, Jr., age 75, of Jasper passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. Mr. May was born on December 30, 1939 to Lewis E. May, Sr. and his wife, Vada Moore May. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Combat Controller.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah May of Jasper; sons, Lewis E. May, III of Denver, Colorado, Martin May of Hampton, Virginia; daughter, Cynthia McClain of Virginia Beach, Virginia; step-daughters, Amy Bishop of Jasper, Kelly Kirik of Jasper, Amanda Johnson of Alabama, Kim Chambers of Jasper; brother, Charles “Chuck” May of Bloomington, Indiana; grandson, Forrest Lehmkuler; and eight step-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2015 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with full military honors. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday; 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday; from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
