Read It and Weep

Retired Army Lt. Col Allen West, on 19 Dec 2015, eloquently wrote: “Wednesday morning, the Congressional leadership (GOP+ Reid & Pelosi) introduced a 2,000-page, $1.1 trillion omnibus spending bill. It adds an additional $80 billion in spending over the next two years, beyond what Congress already planned to spend! This is an unbelievable action from a Congress that was elected to do just the opposite. Congress already spends $426 billion more than the Treasury collects from taxpayers. That’s the deficit this year alone. And Congress has borrowed almost $19 trillion dollars to pay for federal government activities over the last several years. That’s the national debt. At some point, someone in Congressional leadership needs to get control over this spending addiction. That’s what Americans believed they were doing when they elected a majority of Republicans to the House and Senate last year. That’s what they believed would happen when Rep. Paul Ryan was elected as Speaker of the House”.

“The bill provides more funding to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to regulate power plants. It provides funding for the EPA to regulate ponds and streams and to restrict economic development and growth. It provides funding to the Department of Labor to regulate IRAs and retirement plans. And it provides funding for a refugee resettlement program, (Syrian Jihadists) just as America is coping with the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino.”

“The Congressional leadership wanted to quickly pass the 2,000-page bill in a little more than 48 hours. The so-called “Three Day Rule” is supposed to give members of Congress three days to read and understand legislation. But Congressional leadership introduced the bill at 1:34 AM on Wednesday and by 10 o’clock on Wednesday morning they were asking members how they were going to vote. The House passed the bill today and the Senate votes this afternoon. This type of “pass-it-before-you-read-it” process has caused problems in the past. Remember Obamacare? Congressional leadership should have learned that lesson by now”.

Lt. Col. West said it more eloquently than I have.

So, who voted for this bill without reading it? It is enough to know that 150 House Republicans did and nine of them came for Georgia plus our two Senators: Carter, Collins, Graves, Westmorland, Loudermilk, Price, Woodall, A. Scott, and R. Allen, plus Senators Johnny Isakson and David Perdue. I can see no possible reason to vote on a 2009 page bill that hasn’t been read; one pushed for passage under the cover of darkness. This is Obamas bill. He should be made to eat it, yet the GOP “elites” tremble in fear of the prospect of being blamed for closing down the government. What they don’t realize is, apart from losing its constituency, it’s getting closer and closer to the time when the constituency will close it down. It will not be pretty!

What are we going to do with these politicians? How do we treat those who asked for our votes on the promise they would affect needed Conservative changes, then didn’t? How are they to be rewarded for their perfidy? Well we can’t just shoot ‘em but we can remove ‘em!

I can hardly wait to hear the BS from each as the reason for their vote to further support Obamas plans to impose Socialism in America, flood us with Jihadists, fund the Planned Parenthood slaughter factories, while at the same time pushing the country to bankruptcy?

Are there no statesmen anymore interested in doing what’s good for America? Is America so bereft of quality people that we must fill the ranks with mere politicians? I’m sick at heart. We have only one choice, hold these people responsible and replace them.
Remember, freedom is the goal, the Constitutions the way. Now, go get ‘em! (20 Dec 2015)
