Mrs. Dorthy Evans Lanning: Obituary

Mrs. Dorthy Evans Lanning, age 68 of Jasper passed away March 7, 2016 at her residence.

She is survived by her sos and daughters-in-law, Christopher Thompson, Valdosta, Danny and Marie Lanning, Jasper and Todd Lanning and Tracy Fitts, Marble Hill; brothers and sister-in-law, Gene Evans, Jasper, Fred Evans, Jasper and Jack and Martha Evans, Palmetta; sisters and brother-in-law, Martha Brown, Jasper and Jill and Chris Huffstettler, Clayton community;5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Dorthy was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Bowers and son, Dean Thompson.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, March 8 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, Wednesday 8:00am to 10:00pm and Thursday, March 10 at 8:00 am until the funeral hour at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Revs. William Blackwell and Charlie Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawson County.
