William (Bill) M. Neece, Sr., age 68, passed away March 16, 2016 in his sleep at home in Jasper, GA. Bill was born in Joliet, IL June 1, 1947 to Francis H. and Bery J. Neece. He grew up in La Salle, IL and was a 1965 graduate of La Salle-Peru Township High School.
He is survived by his mother, Beryl J. Spurlock of Cape Coral, FL; his son William M. (Lauren) Neece, Jr. of Jasper, GA; daughter, Shelley A. ( Dennis) Kenkel of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, Jessica Thompson-Kenkel of St. Charles, MO, Beau (Tori) Neece of Oakland, MD, and Scott Kenkel of Breckenridge, CO; one great-grandchild, Logan Sheets of St. Charles, MO; three sisters, Donna Sonnon of Gainesville, GA, Sheila Neece of Marseilles, IL, Pamela Hurley of Peru, IL and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis H. Neece; brothers, Robert H. Neece and Stephen Neece.
Bill served as a member of the United States Air Force. He married Nancy A. Tomaszewski, the mother of his children. He spent 30 years in the produce business as Owner of Sun-Rich in Florida and Georgia, before retiring to Marco Island, FL.
He loved Key West, FL where he was a board member for the Florida Keys Outreach Center for the homeless (FKOC) and was the founder of The Neece Center of Homeless Recovery. He loved spending time in Key West and enjoyed his retirement in Marco Island, FL until recently moving to Jasper, GA, where he loved the area and the people of Jasper.
