An Air Methods Helicopter from Gainesville had a (hard landing) in the field next to Piedmont Mountainside Hospital as it arrived to pick up a patient Friday evening, April 15th. A &T Towing removed the helicopter.
According to Christina Brodsly, Air Methods Director of Corporate Communication, A Helicopter had a hard landing in Jasper, Georgia involving an Airbus AS350 B2. The crew is safe and there were no injuries, and there were no patients on board the aircraft. Brodsly said “All the details are being sorted out at this time and there is no room for speculation.” They are working closely with the NTSB and FAA as they conduct a thorough investigation.”
A & T Towing was very excited to have the opportunity to assist with loading the helicopter. It was an easy task for their 50 Ton Rotator because the helicopter only weighed 4,500 lbs. The recovery team was able to complete the job in one hour.
