Ina Ruth Stanfield, age 87, of Talking Rock, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Canton Nursing Center in Canton. Ruth was born February 26, 1929 to John and Amy Bell Wigington in Talking Rock.
She is survived by children, John Stanfield of Ball Ground, Deborah and Leon Gay of Canton, Casey Childers of Canton; sister-in-law, Pat Denson of Talking Rock; grandchildren, William Gay, Rebekah Gay, Seth Stanfield, Cade Stanfield; nieces, Sondra Jones, and Jackie Pool. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. “Bill” Stanfield and brother, W.H. Wigington.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Reverend David Stuart and Reverend Greg Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Roper Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 13 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jasper in honor of Mrs. Stanfield.
