Mrs. Elizabeth Cornett Waters: Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Cornett Waters, age 83, of Jasper, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. Mrs. Waters was born June 26, 1933 to Talton and Maggie Cornett.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Ruth Ann Waters of Jasper, Gary & Deborah Waters of Fairmount; sisters, Eva Denney of Jasper, Mary Carver of Talking Rock; brothers, J.C. Cornett of Jasper, Randall Cornett of Jasper; grandchildren, Matthew and Katy Waters of Fairmount, Zachary and Amber Waters of Jasper, Kyle and Rachel Waters of Jasper, Stephen and Jessie Waters of Fairmount, Joey Thompson and Jordan Scales of Jasper; great-grandchildren, Addison Waters, Chloe Waters, Lauren Waters, Bristol Waters, Lily Waters, Waylon Waters, and Owen Waters. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Waters; brothers, Preston Cornett, and Harpo Cornett.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with Reverend Nathan Smith and Reverend Tim McFarland officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
