Pickens County Burn Ban to End

Due to the recent rains and after consulting with the Ga. Forestry Commission, Pickens County Fire Marshal will lift the ban on outdoor burning in Pickens County on Wednesday December 7th. All outdoor burning can be resumed at that time, after obtaining a permit from the Ga. Forestry Commission @ 706-692-4801 or at www.Gatrees .com. Non-permitted fire will still be treated as an illegal fire and be extinguished. Camp fires, cooking fires do not have to be permitted. The use of burn barrels is still prohibited under state law.
