A Bomb Threat against the First Baptist Church in Pickens County.

A Bomb Threat has been issued against the First Baptist Church in Pickens County.

Jasper City Police Chief Greg Lovell has confirmed the threat and has also told FYN the threat came from an IP address.

According to Chief Lovell, Cherokee County also assisted in the situation by bringing in two K-9 officers which found no device on location.

As a part of officials immediate response, school buses were brought in to relocate all children and employees on premise to the nearby elementary school. They are currently safe  and recovering as officials attempt to return the county to a sense of normalcy.

As the investigation into the threat is ongoing, Chief Lovell has not released any names or current suspects, but did say the continued investigation will be handled by the Gordon County GBI.
