Jordan Matthew Simonds, age 16, of Jasper passed away Saturday, March 11 as the result of an accident. Jordan was born November 11, 2000 to Will and Jessica Simonds in Canton, Georgia. He was a student at Pickens High School and a member of the Pickens High School Varsity Football Team.
He is survived by his parents, Will and Jessica Simonds of Jasper; brothers, Tyjai Howell of Jasper; Jayden Simonds of Jasper; grandparents, Jimmy and Gaynelle Simonds of Jasper; Alan Atkins of St. Petersburgh,Florida; Nancy Jaworski of Jasper. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members also survive.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Butch Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, March 13 from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday, March 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Wednesday, March 15 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
