Residents from local counties in North Georgia were representing their community in the contest to be Mardi Gras in the Mountains King and Queen while raising some money for a good cause.
Mardi Gras in the Mountains is an annual joint fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Jasper, The Knights of Columbus and Georgia Mountains Hospice. The annual event was held Saturday, February 25th from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at Appalachian Campus of Chattahoochee Technical College in Jasper, Georgia. The evening was enjoyed by a large attendance.
The night included fine dining, a band, silent auction and coronation of the King and Queen and Honor Court. Congratulations to all for the fundraising and special recognition to this year’s King Lonnie Waters and Queen Amy Leake. Attendees enjoyed a great dinner and wonderful entertainment.
