Pickens County Suitcase Drive a Success
The North Georgia Mountain Crisis Network (NGMCN) recently completed a very successful suitcase drive netting a number of suitcases and bags for shelter residents. A bag or other piece of luggage will be given to each resident exiting the shelter.
Often residents leave their homes quickly with only the clothes on their backs or their important belongings in plastic bags. The suitcases will now allow residents to pack belongs and take them to their next location.
The NGMC wants to thank all those who dropped off bags and suitcases to the Chamber. Pictured with some of the donations are Tina Williams and Jackson Leake with the Pickens County Chamber of Commerce and Mary Migliaro, Executive Director of the NGMCN.
The NGMCN serves battered women and men, sexual assault survivors, and their children in Pickens, Gilmer and Fannin Counties by providing emergency shelter, gal and medical advocacy, counseling and more.
