Harley Shane “Buck” Prather, age 80 of Jasper passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at his home. Buck was born December 1, 1936 in Pickens County to Harley and Georgia Henderson Prather. Mr. Prather was a member of the Refuge Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
Buck is survived by his wife; Jessie Prather of Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Jan Prather of Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Chris Holcomb of Jasper; grandchildren, Phillip Clark, Nick Clark, Megan Clark, Carlee and Brandon Nelson, Christy Richards, P.J. Holcomb, and Justin Holcomb; great-grandchildren, Cohen and Colson Clark, Brooke, Dacoda, and Cheyanne Holcomb, and Gabby Richards. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday, May1, 2017 at Refuge Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Grant and Reverend Jess Posey officiating. Interment will be in the Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Prather Family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 11:00am until 9:00pm and on Monday, May 1, 2017 until the funeral hour.
