SCAM WARNING From the Sheriff’s Department

We have been made aware of a Scam that is taking place around our community. The scam involves individuals calling our citizens and claiming to be an employee of the Sheriff’s Office. They are even using the names of employees that they have been able to access. They are then advising to avoid being arrested, they need to send money. They have even been able to disguise the number they are calling from to match an agency or county number.

WE DO NOT CALL INDIVIDUALS AND HAVE THEM PAY MONEY OVER THE PHONE.

If a member of our office ever calls related to an outstanding warrant, the will only advise you to turn yourself in, not to send money to avoid it.
