Mrs. Zelma McClure, age 94, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Grandview Health Care Center. She was born August 17, 1922 in Camp Hill, Alabama.
Zelma is survived by her daughters, Bernice Jones of Dallas; Idella Hawkins of Dallas; sister, Ann Marie; grandchildren, Bion and Jolani Grady of Dallas, Brandon and Promise Jones of Atlanta, Devi Hawkins of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Rashaan Grady of Austell, Langston Jones of Atlanta, John Sulapas of Dallas, Jerry Sulapas of Dallas, Trent Hawkins of Dallas; and brother-in-law, Robert McClure of Jasper. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Friendship Baptist Church in Jasper with Reverend Scott McClure, Reverend R. S. Thomas, and Reverend Willie Render officiating. Interment will follow at Norton Cemetery. She will lie in state Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. The wake will be Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Roper Funeral Home.
