James Jackie Buchanan, age 77, of Jasper, GA passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his home. James was born May 28, 1940 in Marble Hill to Hansel and Savilla Buchanan.
He is survived by his wife, Willene Buchanan, of Jasper; grandchildren, Tammy and Matthew Butler, of Ball Ground, Jessica and Matthew Dawkins, of Jasper, Vallon and Joshua Underwood, of Fairmount; great-grandchildren Clara Butler, Colin Butler, Declan Dawkins; brother and sister-in-law, Troyet and Avis Buchanan, of Jasper. He was preceded in death by his children Valerie Burgess and Steve Patterson.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00am Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Goss officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Sunday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and on Monday from 9:00am until the funeral hour.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Georgia Mountains Hospice 70 Caring Way Jasper, GA 30143.
The family request no food be brought to the funeral home.
