Walter Bogas, age 88, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Pruitt Health in Jasper. He was born July 1, 1930 to George and Anna Bogas of Long Island, New York.
He enjoyed golf, tennis, hiking, and traveling with his wife and friends. He impacted his community with his service at Good Samaritan for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Bogas of Bent Tree; daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Rocky Anzalone of Staton Island, New York; son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Tina Bogas of Staton Island, New York; grandchildren, Dominique Bogas, Alexis Bogas, Joseph Anzalone, Frank Anzalone, Michael Anzalone; brother, Maurice Brown of California; sister, Rachael Woodin of White Plains, New York.
Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Veterans Cemetery Road; Canton, GA 30114.)
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Good Samaritan (175 Samaritan Way; Jasper, GA 30143) or Keep Bent Tree Beautiful (40 Little Pine Mountain Road, #20202; Jasper, GA 30143.)
