Joshua Newman Darnell, age 39 of Jasper, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. Josh was born November 30, 1979 to Danny Newman and Elayne Johnson Darnell in Cherokee County. He proudly served in the United States Navy for nine years.
He is survived by his mother, Elayne Johnson Darnell of Jasper; sister, Jodi Jackson of Ellijay; nieces, Sarah Miller of Cumming, Julie and Nick Williamson of Marietta; nephew, Christoper Barnes of Jasper; two great nephews; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Josh is being cremated and no services are planned at this time.
Donations may be made in his honor to Pickens County Senior Center or Pickens County Animal Shelter.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
