Cecil Edward Sweat: Obituary

Cecil Edward Sweat, age 78 of Jasper, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2019 at his home. He was born November 6, 1941 to Claudie Theodore and Mary Elizabeth “Tom” Sweat in Canton, Georgia.

Mr. Sweat is survived by his wife Linda Sweat of Marble Hill; daughter, Stacy Gentry and Chris Jordan of Nelson; sister, Claudette Cantrell of Canton; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Willa Sweat of Mesa Arizona; brother and sister in law; Charles and Joann Tomblin of Dublin; granddaughter, Kaya Jordan; special aunt, Yvonne Disharoon, several nieces, nephews and relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Claudie and Mary Elizabeth “Tom” Sweat, sister, Doris Lee, brother, Wayne Sweat, son-in-law, Adam Gentry and grandson, Roger Green.

The family will be receiving friends, Friday December 6, 2019 at Roper Funeral Home and Crematory at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 8, 2019 in the Roper Funeral Home Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Buck Parker, Reverend Ted Estes and Reverend Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Forest Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to the staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
