The Pickens High Dragonettes came into their Tuesday, Dec. 10, game with Gordon Lee with a 4-2 overall record and winners of three straight.
The opening quarter was pretty tightly contested. The Lady Trojans held a 17-11 lead late in the first quarter, but a 3-pointer from Allie Presley and a made shot from Lilly Simmons cut the Gordon Lee lead down to 17-16 going to the second period. Sarah Morris led the ‘Nettes in scoring in the opening quarter with eight points.
In the second, the ‘Nettes were able to get things going both offensively and defensively. Pickens outscored the Lady Trojans 22-8 in the frame. Mykenzie Weaver, Reagan Harwood, Presley, Marlee McClure, Amanda Nelson, and Chloe Walker all contributed points in the period. Going into halftime, the ‘Nettes held a 38-25 lead against Gordon Lee.
The third quarter saw the ‘Nettes carried over their impressive play from the second quarter to start the second half. Picken allowed 11 total points in the third, while pouring in 24 to take a 62-36 lead into the final quarter.
The fourth quarter saw the ‘Nettes finish off the game to seal their fifth overall win and fourth straight, 79-54.

Mykenzie Weaver: 17 points
Reagan Harwood: nine points
Allie Presley: nine points
Amanda Nelson: six points.
Pickens will be back on the road Friday, Dec. 13, as they head to Lafayette to take on the Lady Ramblers. This will be a key region game for both teams. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
