After a tough, hard fought win last night at Lafayette, the PHS Dragonettes turned right around and hosted the Gordon Central Lady Warriors. The last time these two teams faced each other, it went into overtime with the Nettes coming away victorious 92-90.
To start the 1st quarter, the away team got off to a very fast start. The Lady Warriors kicked off the game on a 13-0 run. The Nettes, shook off their cold start to the game and got right back into it with a 10-0 run themselves. The run was powered by Kealy Hillhouse and Chloe Walker. Going to the 2nd quarter, Gordon Central took a 17-12 lead.

In the 2nd quarter, the Lady Warriors went on an 11-2 run to begin the frame. Sarah Morris and Allie Presley helped the Nettes go on a 5-0 run, but Gordon Central maintained a 30-19 going to the break.

The 3rd quarter, saw the Nettes offense finally come alive. Pickens, used a 23-17 quarter run to cut the Gordon Central lead down to five, 47-42. The Nettes got buckets from Marlee McClure, Amanda Nelson, Mykenzie Weaver, Walker, and Reagan Harwood in the frame.

In the 4th and final quarter, the Nettes, got within three of the lady Warriors in the closing seconds. Pickens, had one last chance with 1.2 seconds left. The potential game tying three fell short and Gordon Central came away with a 55-52 win.

Pickens, will be back on the road on Tuesday night as they head to Ellijay to take on the Lady Cats of Gilmer. The game, originally scheduled for 6 pm, has now been moved back to 7 pm due to the addition of a JV boys game.
