Press Release: UPDATE: Due to icy patches on roads at higher elevations and temperatures hovering around freezing, schools are closed on Feb. 7. Please exercise caution if you have to be out on the roads. This applies to all students and staff; 240-day staff should report only if safe to travel.
In the interest of student safety, Pickens County Schools will be releasing early today,
Thursday, February 6, 2020. Pickens High School and Pickens Junior High students will be
released at 1:00 p.m. All remaining schools will release students at 1:45 p.m.
Due to potential weather conditions tomorrow morning, February 7, 2020, Pickens
County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule. For example, if your child’s bus
normally picks up at 6:45 a.m., your child will be picked up tomorrow at 8:45 a.m.
Faculty and staff may leave once bus and parent pick-up has concluded. Please exercise
caution when traveling home. Tomorrow morning, due to potential weather concerns,
exercise caution traveling to work.
