Pickens County recount will begin November 30

The Pickens County Board of Elections and Registration began conducting the L&A testing for the recount that will begin on Monday, November 30th at 9 am. L&A testing also known as logic and accuracy testing tests the tabulator set up of a new election definition to ensure that the content correctly reflects the election being held. In addition, the L&A testing helps to ensure that all voting positions can be voted for the maximum number of eligible candidates and that the results are accurately tabulated and reported.

Before a ballot can be tabulated there are multiple verification steps and safeguards that are put into place to ensure the ballot is valid.

Georgia is in the process of recounting their votes for the third time since the Presidential election. Secretary of State Brad  Raffensperger expressed “When we first did the audit, we found mistakes in three counties and that added over 1,000 votes for President Trump. That has all been accounted for, and so I think this one will be very close to what we have just now. I don’t see much difference whatsoever. We told the [Trump] campaign if they find instances over voter fraud, we will check it out.”

The recount for Pickens County was ordered by the Secretary of State to commence on Wednesday, November 25th starting at 10:00 am and will continue until the recount is complete. The L&A testing and recount will be held at 83 Pioneer Rd in Jasper, Ga.
