Vehicle causes carport fire

PICKENS COUNTY, Ga. – Last Thursday, August 17, 2023, Pickens County Fire Rescue along with Bent Tree Fire were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in a garage inside the Bent Tree Community.

First arriving units from Bent Tree Fire reported a vehicle fire approximately 50% involved.

Vehicle was parked under a detached garage area. Fire was knocked down and quickly brought under control.

Fire was contained to the garage area with extensive damage to the vehicle and moderate damage to the ceiling area of garage.

Slight injury to occupant working on vehicle and no injuries to firefighters.

Responding units were Bent Tree Fire, Pickens Fire Engine 51, Engine 11, Med-5, Med-11, Rescue-11, 1101, County Fire Marshal and Jasper Fire Rescue-1.
