PRESS RELEASE – On December 12, 2024, the Haralson County Crime Suppression unit was on concentrated patrol in the Cashtown and US Highway 78 area when Cpl. Jarrett Chandler observed a GMC Yukon having the wrong tag on the vehicle.
The vehicle was stopped in the Center Point Road area and Sgt. Swanger made contact with the driver.
The driver stated that he did not have any identification on him but gave Sgt. Swanger the false name of Kevin Blackmon.
During the investigation, the driver appeared nervous, so Sgt. Swanger asked him to exit the vehicle and conducted a pat down for safety.
During the pat down, a pipe was found that had suspected methamphetamine residue in it.
The driver was then detained, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. While searching the vehicle, the identification of the driver, real name of Christopher Blackmon was located along with 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
Christopher Alan Blackmon, a 42-year-old W/M out of Temple, GA was arrested and charged with VGCSA Trafficking Methamphetamine, Driving on a Suspended License and License Plate Violation.
The case has been turned over to the Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force.
